Get Involved
With funding from a NASA TEAM II grant funded award (award number #80NSSC23M0080), the National Ozone Garden Network will have additional opportunities and activities from 2024-2026.
Recruitment
Anyone is welcome to join the general garden network at any time by completing the Ozone Garden Manager Registration for your site. If you have any questions first, or just want to join the Google Group but not create an official garden site yet, you can email the Garden Leads team.
To register a garden, please consider the following information before registering:
- Do I have a garden plot location? Is this location accessible to the public for free?
- Who will be the lead point of contact for the Garden Leads team?
- Who will be managing garden care? Who will be collecting data?
- How will programming with your community occur? Who is the audience your garden is serving?
Virtual Webinars and In-Person Workshops
We host yearly virtual webinars to inform the network about key topics related to air quality, garden management, the NASA TEMPO Satellite, and more. All registered garden managers and those in the Network Google Group automatically receive invites to these webinars.
We are hosting an in-person workshop in 2025 and 2026 in Boulder, CO, thanks to grant funding. This opportunity is limited and not open to general network members at this time.
Resources
Thanks to the grant funding, we have developed additional resources for ozone garden managers to use. This includes engaging, facilitated activities for students and adults who visit your garden, and informative signage to print and use at your site. To access these resources, join the Google Group or request limited access by emailing the Garden Leads team.
Some of the new resources developed will connect your audiences to the NASA TEMPO Satellite. TEMPO was launched in 2023 as a stationary satellite over North America, primarily collecting data over the contiguous United States and Mexico. Anyone can explore the NASA TEMPO Data on their own!
For any questions about creating an ozone garden, joining the National Ozone Garden Network Google Group, or about the grant-funded activities, email the Garden Leads team.
